Great Weekend

We had such a great weekend. Friday evening I dropped Kirra off at Nana & Papa’s, and I went to Card Club (we make homemade cards) and Jason was playing poker. I got home and met his poker friends, and they are all very nice.

Saturday morning I woke up, and finished cleaning, and then ran some errands and did some wine tasting at the liquor store. There was a very great Pinot Grigio. So I bought two bottles!!! The work party was last night, and it went off without a hitch. I think everyone had a great time. Jason got wine glasses and I got some m&m’s and california baby products. SO i was thrilled. It was kind of like I got both gifts :P.
Today Jason and I slept in until 10:20am,and then went over to his parent’s for the Vikings game, which was terrific! I got to take a nap as well for a few hours after the game, so it went really well. Kirra was happy to see us. We also got to enjoy grandma’s terrific tacos as well. Miah and Amillie came over too.
This week should be fun. I plan on taking the bus tomorrow morning to catch up on some reading! Have a great week everyone!

Week in Review

Well this past week has been absolutely amazing. I’ve had something going on every day this week! Here is our.. week in review…

Monday:
Monday was Kirra’s 2 year well baby check up. Again I really can’t believe she is two already! Where has the time even gone? She was 33 inches tall, and weighed 26lbs. So she’s getting bigger little by little! No shots this time, however we have to visit the Fairview clinic next Wednesday to get her the h1n1 vaccine, because she is in the high risk category.
Tuesday:
Tuesday was my part time job “information sharing” meeting. As always its super fun. We might be moving offices next month, and the location is even closer to my home, so thats exciting. Right now i’m working on updates on our website, and re-vamping our grand prix series.
Wednesday:
Jason and I brought Kirra over his parent’s to be watched, while Jason and I went to the Hinder Concert. The venue was at The Rock, which was standing room only which I wasn’t real nuts about since I had heels on. The opening bands I thought were better than Hinder… Faction, and The Veer Union. We didnt get home until nearly 1am, so Kirra (nor I actually) were real keen on waking up on Thursday morning so early!
Thursday:
Got to go over to Betsy’s to watch Grey’s Anatomy & Private Practice. She made fresh out of the oven cookies, and milk, so that was ridiculously yummy!
Friday:
Card Club. As always this was fun!
Saturday:
I got a lot done today. Kirra and I went to Al’s Vacuum in Bloomington so I could get a vacuum attachment that didn’t come with my vacuum. Its specifically for hardwood/bare floors. And it works like a gem! Then we stopped by Rosedale mall to see our friend Lois who works at Lucy, and let me tell you…I pretty much want everything in that store! THen Kirra and I went to Stride Rite to get her feet fitted for shoes. she is a 4 wide (she was wearing a 3…oops). So I put two shoes on hold, and will go pick one of the pair up tomorrow. Later tonight I went to the Trace Atkins & Martina McBride concert at the Xcel Energy center. It was a GREAT concert. Probably the best one i’ve ever been to. It was great!!! That’s my kind of music!
Tomorrow Jason and I are going to Twilight – New Moon. Super excited…..

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to everyone! We had a blast! We had some company over, and we played lots of ladder golf, which we bought on Saturday for the occasion. I love the game, even though everyone gets scared when I throw. I kind of throw fast pitch style… Mike came all the way down from Bemidji and spent the 4th over night with us. It was so great to see him. It was his birthday on the 3rd …. in addition to the 4th, or anniversary on the 15th, and Sue’s birthday at the end of June….. so there was a lot to celebrate! All of our neighbors directly were out of town, so we had the area to ourselves which was nice.

Pam and Phil brought their new puppy Chloe, a chocolate lab whom they got for free because she was born without a tail. She is about 7 weeks here, and simply adorable to the max. I was so lucky because on Thursday my co-worker John brought his new puppy a Golden Retriever who was 9 weeks old, and then got to spend the day with Chloe. We cuddled at the bonfire and she slept on me, so I am definitely getting my puppy fix!

Some of our neighbors and several houses in the area light off very high quality fireworks that you would find at Taste of Minnesota! It was great, and we got to see all of them from the comforts of our own backyard. We could even see ham lake city fireworks from our backyard too. But just the highest ones, but still it was nice to not worry about fighting the crowds etc. Looks like we might be the host sight from now on!
Today – Sunday we kept it pretty low key. Tomorrow we’re back to work!

Happy Father’s Day

Today Jason let me sleep in, bless his soul. I found out my good friend Kristina just moved about 4 blocks away from me, so I went over to her house last night to offer some moral support while she put up her new wardrobe from Ikea. The instructions on her wardrobe had no words, just cartoon characters which by themselves would be funny enough but with the few glasses of wine we had was even more funny. We’re planning to go biking in the mornings which will be so nice. I have Monday & Tuesday off, so I told her that it has to be after that!

I got home safe and sound Friday night at about 11:30. My co-worker Julie and I had a good ride home, singing karaoke style in the car… Near Finlayson we saw a cop car completely blazed in fire, which was pretty crazy. I’m not sure what happened there… Yesterday Jason, Kirra and I went to breakfast at Perkins. Kirra’s plate was bigger than even mine!

Later on we all took naps, and Kirra and I (after we woke up) went to 6pm church service, and then off to Jason’s parents for a visit. Kirra had fun jumping on the trampoline, and running in their 5 acre backyard! After we got back as I said above i went to Kristina’s house.

Today we went to my parents and had a BBQ of Hamburgers, fresh fruit, beans, chips and dips. We also had a Key’s house cake which is ALWAYS to die for. Then we had a fun game of croquet. I didn’t play, I was watching Kirra and playing tag with my nieces & nephew. It was a great time. Kirra is now taking a late nap, and I am making stroganoff for dinner. Tomorrow I have off work, and Kirra and I are meeting up with a friend to go to the park and have a picnic lunch!

Weekend Fun

So far our weekend has been a lot of fun! Last night we had company over for my brother Rick’s birthday. See the photos on the left. It was a Hannah Montana theme because of an inside joke with the family. Rick got a huge kick out of it. We all had super yummy DQ cake and played cards and wii.

Today I met up with my old childhood neighbor Jolene and her daughter Keira (pronounced like Kirra) at Como Zoo. Her mom came with too! Not only was it great to see her, it was also helpful when she opened the doors since we had the girls in strollers. We walked thru the conservatory to warm up (Since we had to park far away because suprisingly it was really busy!) It was so warm in there and Kirra absolutely loved looking at all of the flowers and plants, and especially loved seeing the coi fish in the little ponds. Just as I was about to snap a photo the batteries died, so unfortunately I don’t have any pictures from our outing today. I’m sure we will make a few trips back to the zoo this year! After the conservatory we went into the Tropical section which is also indoors. They have HUGE tanks with BIG fish in them. Kirra loved seeing the big fishies, and especially loved seeing the sloth (out of a cage) move around. Apparently the sloth never moves but she got out of whack because they are nocturnal, and this was about 1pm. The zookeeper said that was the most she’s moved in a while.

Once we got home Kirra and I enjoyed Grilled Cheese Sammies and both of us, no… all 3 of us took a nap. I’m sure Tyler and Kitty took a nap too. Jason made us yummy pork chops for dinner!

Tomorrow I am meeting up with my old High School best bud for coffee. I’m pretty excited to catch up with her. We lost contact when I joined the Navy so I am sure a ton has happened in the past 8.5 years! That’s a long time!

I’m so glad tomorrow is Sunday! We’ll watch a few TV shows, and Kirra’s new favorite TV show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She loves that show!

Toodles.

Christmas

Although every Christmas is super fun, this year was even extra fun since Kirra opened most of her own presents. She was very excited about the many things.

We started out at my parent’s  house. We had hot beef sammies for lunch that were absolutely delicious! Kirra got lots of new clothes, and some really neat toys. Mom and Dad got a Wii! Kirra didn’t nap all day long, so she was extremely tired. She slept in the car for about 45 minutes.

Later that day we drove out to Uncle Joes in Lake Elmo. On the way Kirra was having her nap, so Jason took me to see their old family farm in Stillwater. They apparently changed a lot of things, so we couldn’t see the farm, but now I knew where it was. Uncle Joe’s was equally fun. He had a great dinner, and it was so wonderful to see everyone.

After a long day we drove home. Jason set up the Wii, and I went to church.

Thursday – Christmas day, we woke up and went to Jason’s parents. Kirra got lots of clothes, a nice book, some great stockings in her stocking, and even a lady bug toy that she was particularly afraid of.
I got some very cute clothes, the softest sox ever, and a gorgeous candle holder.. Mom even got some sleeper pajamas! (Picture to follow!), and Daddy got lots of awesome stuff too, including a tool box, since we always loose our screwdrivers. He also got a pull up bar that hooks on the door frame!!!

We had so much good food, that mom was absolutely stuffed! It was a great Christmas!
