Children’s Museum

Kirra and I met up with our friends Izze & Nicole (and Ariana & Michelle were with too). It was a free day so it was PACKED!!!! Not totally sure if I’ll go on a free day after this! I definitely would like to try something different though like… the zoo, or something like that. Kirra really did like playing in the water stations though. Here are some cute photos I captured of her today.
I think perhaps I’ll take a bubble bath at the kids museum

Yeah! This is really a good look for me!

Week in Review

Well this past week has been absolutely amazing. I’ve had something going on every day this week! Here is our.. week in review…

Monday:
Monday was Kirra’s 2 year well baby check up. Again I really can’t believe she is two already! Where has the time even gone? She was 33 inches tall, and weighed 26lbs. So she’s getting bigger little by little! No shots this time, however we have to visit the Fairview clinic next Wednesday to get her the h1n1 vaccine, because she is in the high risk category.
Tuesday:
Tuesday was my part time job “information sharing” meeting. As always its super fun. We might be moving offices next month, and the location is even closer to my home, so thats exciting. Right now i’m working on updates on our website, and re-vamping our grand prix series.
Wednesday:
Jason and I brought Kirra over his parent’s to be watched, while Jason and I went to the Hinder Concert. The venue was at The Rock, which was standing room only which I wasn’t real nuts about since I had heels on. The opening bands I thought were better than Hinder… Faction, and The Veer Union. We didnt get home until nearly 1am, so Kirra (nor I actually) were real keen on waking up on Thursday morning so early!
Thursday:
Got to go over to Betsy’s to watch Grey’s Anatomy & Private Practice. She made fresh out of the oven cookies, and milk, so that was ridiculously yummy!
Friday:
Card Club. As always this was fun!
Saturday:
I got a lot done today. Kirra and I went to Al’s Vacuum in Bloomington so I could get a vacuum attachment that didn’t come with my vacuum. Its specifically for hardwood/bare floors. And it works like a gem! Then we stopped by Rosedale mall to see our friend Lois who works at Lucy, and let me tell you…I pretty much want everything in that store! THen Kirra and I went to Stride Rite to get her feet fitted for shoes. she is a 4 wide (she was wearing a 3…oops). So I put two shoes on hold, and will go pick one of the pair up tomorrow. Later tonight I went to the Trace Atkins & Martina McBride concert at the Xcel Energy center. It was a GREAT concert. Probably the best one i’ve ever been to. It was great!!! That’s my kind of music!
Tomorrow Jason and I are going to Twilight – New Moon. Super excited…..

Happy Father’s Day

Today Jason let me sleep in, bless his soul. I found out my good friend Kristina just moved about 4 blocks away from me, so I went over to her house last night to offer some moral support while she put up her new wardrobe from Ikea. The instructions on her wardrobe had no words, just cartoon characters which by themselves would be funny enough but with the few glasses of wine we had was even more funny. We’re planning to go biking in the mornings which will be so nice. I have Monday & Tuesday off, so I told her that it has to be after that!

I got home safe and sound Friday night at about 11:30. My co-worker Julie and I had a good ride home, singing karaoke style in the car… Near Finlayson we saw a cop car completely blazed in fire, which was pretty crazy. I’m not sure what happened there… Yesterday Jason, Kirra and I went to breakfast at Perkins. Kirra’s plate was bigger than even mine!

Later on we all took naps, and Kirra and I (after we woke up) went to 6pm church service, and then off to Jason’s parents for a visit. Kirra had fun jumping on the trampoline, and running in their 5 acre backyard! After we got back as I said above i went to Kristina’s house.

Today we went to my parents and had a BBQ of Hamburgers, fresh fruit, beans, chips and dips. We also had a Key’s house cake which is ALWAYS to die for. Then we had a fun game of croquet. I didn’t play, I was watching Kirra and playing tag with my nieces & nephew. It was a great time. Kirra is now taking a late nap, and I am making stroganoff for dinner. Tomorrow I have off work, and Kirra and I are meeting up with a friend to go to the park and have a picnic lunch!

In Duluth

Well I am up in Duluth for the Grandma’s Marathon. I am here with co-workers to represent TCM at our expo booth we have up here. We (my co-workers and I) got here safe and sound yesterday about 5pm, and then we worked at the expo until 9pm. We went to Little Angies? For dinner a Mexican restaurant in Canal Park. It was pretty yummy, although now here at 4am, because I miss my tempurpedic mattress!

We don’t have to be at the expo today until 10am (so, 6 more hours) which will be nice. I’m having a feeling that coffee/caribou will be my best friend tomorrow!!!

I called home to let Jason know that I got here safe, and he said that Kirra had a fever, and isn’t feeling well at all. I wish I was at home to give her lots of hugs and kisses, and just rock her, and cuddle her. I’m coming back (well tonight) after the expo (friday) so I should be home around 11:30pm or so.

This Sunday we’re going to my parent’s house for a BBQ Lunch and some croquet! It should be a great time, providing the weather holds out for us. Wish me a good day tomorrow, and safe travels!!!

Back from Labor Day

Well, we had a very enjoyable camping trip to Willow River. Jason and I both got off work fairly early on Friday, so we were able to get up there around 4:30pm. We found a good spot on the very large group site, and got our tent/home set up.

It honeslty should have been renamed Daddy Long Legs State Forest as they were absolutely every where! Friday night (on our way up) we stopped at Subway and had that for lunch and dinner. Saturday we woke up when Kirra did, and i took Pam & Phils canoe out by myself for a little exploration. I tried to find the Willow River since it flows into the “Lake” we were camping on, however I didn’t want to get too far gone, and not be able to paddle back by myself. I had an enjoyable trip/workout. When I got back there was lots of sitting in the sun, drinking cocktails and enjoying good converstation. For dinner Jason made us some steaks on the charcoal grill and they turned out wonderful!!! Saturday I stayed up pretty late, and enjoyed myself.

Sunday Jason and i took out the canoe together for a little fishing, and canoeing. We were both in quest for the Willow River, and went thru lots of little chanels thru the rice patties (there was rice everywhere) but after a few hours still couldn’t find the outlet. The rice patties were so thick we cooudln’t figure out which way to go. So we droped anchor, and fished for a little while. Unfortunately we didn’t catch any keepers. We had steaks for lunch, and Burgers for dinner. They were all delicious!

We decided to leave camp about 9:30am today, and got home around 11:00. How nice to be home again!

Happy 4th of July!

What a great weekend we had for the 4th. Thursday Kirra and I drove into White Bear Lake for Marketfest with Grandma Theo. We walked around and caught up with our friends Nicole and her daughter Isabelle (who is just 3 weeks youger) We also saw some other friends too.

Friday was great, we went to Pam and Phils house for plants, good conversation and dinner. Jay and Barb brought their new puppy, and Kirra just loved the little puppy, and the puppy really liked Kirra so they hung out, and played. I rode my bike over there, which was a great ride. Its about 25 miles. Jason drove the pickup truck, and we drove my bike back.

Saturday was happy planting day for Jason, and Kirra nad I went to Uncle Joes with Missy, Brian, Ally & Gabby for Kirra’s debut for swimming. She did really great. At first she was really mad to have a life jacket on, so since we were staying in shore I put her in her floatie toy, and held on to her too. Then she had a blast. The water was warm. Once we got home we ran some errands together at Walmart.

Sunday was SOOOO hot. We walked to church today, and Kirra was VERY vocal so we left after communion. Surprised. I love being able to walk to church. It’s the best. The rest of the day has been spent indoors with the air conditioning on. Jason and I tried to warm up our pool by hooking a hose up to our stationary tub and putting hot water into the pool but no luck. Its still like Lake Superior. Hopefully after this week it will be acceptable for Kirra.

This Wednesday we have our playgroup, and we’re meeting at the pool. It will be another chance for Kirra to practice her swim. It’s a heated community pool, and it has zero entry so that is nice for the babies.
