Children’s Hospital…

Well I emailed one of our association members at work who is a pediatrician down at Children’s. She called me back in just minutes, and we went over a few things. She didn’t really have any ideas, but told me to keep nebbing her with albuteral every 4-6 hours as needed, and giving her the prevacid.

Hopefully Dr. Evan’s can give me more insight.

Call in for the doctor

Poor Kirra thew up last night because of her coughing attacks. I left a message for our pediatrician and made sure to note that only she could call us back. I’m sick of talking to the nurses when they don’t have any ideas.

She isn’t in tomorrow, but will be in on Thursday! I’m very excited for this phone call.

Ideas

Last night I read in numerous websites about giving a teaspoon of honey for a cough. So last night I gave Kirra some honey, but she went ahead and coughed anyways. A few times it scared me quite a bit, but she was just fine.

Today during her nap she was having a horrible coughing attack, so I told Jason to grab the nebulizer so we woke her up and nebbed her. She immediately stopped coughing, and is now trying to go back to bed with her heart racing! Poor girl.

Maybe we’ll try to neb her every 4-6 hours like our one doctor (Dr. Luhman) suggested. I wish our specialist appointment was sooner!

Nurse Call Back

So Dr. Evan’s nurse called us back again, even though I specifically request that our doctor call us back. We understand that she might be busy and all, and even understand if she can’t call us back that day, but really? She never calls us back herself. Jason and I are getting sick of just talking to the nurse.

The nurse didn’t say much, besides if Kirra is still coughing we can bring her in.

That didn’t help.

Happy New Year

Well the New Year has come! We had some company over last night, and had a pot luck apps. It was really nice and low-key. Spending time with the ones you love is always great!

2008 was great! Even though we had a major death in the family – Grandpa, over all it was great. Jason still works for Stockness Construction pouring concrete, and operates a laser screed that levels very large concrete pads. His company sent him down to Fort Myers Florida to learn how to operate his machine.

I got to travel for work in the begining of the year as well, going to Atlanta Georgia for an expo. That was very fun! Work for me is going absolutely wonderful! I love my job, and everyone i work with. 2009 I am going to try and learn a few new things!

2009 doesn’t come with HUGE plans. I think we’re going to just take everything step by step again. Of course we will have the annual camping trip to Lake Lydick, which is definitely always a good time. We will probably install a new patio door, and perhaps even fence in the backyard! (That would be great for Tyler!)

Watch this funny video of Kirra trying to imitate us sneezing. Its so cute. The link is just below.

Cheers to a great 2009!
